When George Met Ali

A George Hartmann Story

George Hartmann is living like a typical twenty-something bachelor in the early aughts until one careless romp between the sheets lands him in a troublesome situation.

About When George Met Ali:

A young airman's careless one-night stand. A selfish lover bent on sabotage. A much needed wake-up call. And a growing awareness of the desire to find real, true love.

It’s bad enough George wakes up with no memory of the night before, but when he sees a honeymoon photo on his lover’s nightstand then finds out she has ulterior motives for their union, only one thing echos through his mind: What was I thinking? Determined to avoid having his life turn out like a melodramatic daytime talk show episode, George must get serious about what he wants and how to prepare for it.

Can we plan for destiny? And how do we know we’re doing it right, so that we don’t miss out on the very best things life has in store for us? This e-book original short story of approximately ten-thousand words is a prequel to the twisty George Hartmann Psychological Thriller Series. It can be read in a single sitting.

Praise for When George Met Ali

If you’ve read Ithaca’s Soldier, you know George can be somewhat insatiable, and we see here how one dalliance could have easily been his downfall and propel his life down a dark rabbit hole. Instead he inadvertently uses this experience to bring him closer to his destiny. A very well written story that allows us to spend a little more time with George while we await further adventures from the Hartmanns.

I read this story after I had read Ithaca’s Soldier, the first novel in the George Hartmann series. I found it to be a well written, easy to read and fun introduction to George. It helped me to understand who he is and where he wants to go. It was a quick, enjoyable and convincing preview of the series hero!

What a beautiful prequel to the beautiful novel Ithaca’s Soldier! This little story is chock full of wisdom and love.

This story doesn’t contain epic adventure or an exciting plot twist. But, for me, it gave me insight into George Hartmann and I needed that. I recently had a Facebook Messenger conversation with the author about George and I told her that George didn’t seem real to me yet.

Hey, Kelly - I get it now. The character development gets 5 stars and, on one hand, I wish that I’d read this story first so that I could appreciate Ithaca’s Soldier more. On the other, I’m glad it happened this way. Now, I’m looking forward to Book 2 with a whole new outlook on the Hartmanns.

For anyone new to Kelly’s series, give this a try. This was a quick read - I read it during my first cup of coffee this morning. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Another good read. I like that he (George) has sowed his wild oats and now wants to change his life.

It’s really nice to have a bit of a back story. Kelly has fleshed out the characters so they have more depth which helps the reader better engage with them.
